This project used frameless tempered glass to create a defined pool barrier while preserving the open waterfront view. The low-profile metal supports keep the installation visually quiet, allowing the water, landscaping and outdoor living space to remain the focus.

The view is why the house is here

On a waterfront property the view is the reason the house is where it is. The pool, the spa and the outdoor kitchen all face the Sound, and every one of those spaces would have been diminished by a barrier with a visible top rail running through it.

Exposure was the second problem. Anything installed here lives in salt air year-round, so the specification mattered as much as the layout.

A barrier that never enters the sightline to the Sound

Frameless glass around the pool and spa, run so that the sightline from the kitchen and the deck to the water is never broken. The barrier does its job without ever becoming part of the view.

Where the ground falls away toward the water, panel heights were stepped so the top line stays consistent to the eye rather than following every dip in the grade.

What the detailing actually required

Sightline planning. Panel runs set from where people actually sit, not from a plan drawing.

Coastal specification. Hardware and fixings chosen for continuous salt exposure.

Grade transitions. Panels stepped to hold a level top line across changing elevations.

Spa and kitchen access. Gates positioned so the pool, spa and outdoor kitchen stay one connected space.
