Two aluminum fence systems on one property: close-spaced fencing around the pool and a 6-foot spear-top fence defining the property perimeter.
One property. Two very different jobs for aluminum.
This Miller Place installation shows how aluminum can be configured differently across the same property without losing a consistent finished look. Around the swimming pool, Sunrise installed aluminum fencing with 1⅝-inch picket spacing. Around the property, the design changes to a 6-foot-tall spear-top aluminum fence.
The result is not one fence repeated everywhere. Each section responds to a different part of the property while staying within the same black aluminum material family.

1⅝-inch picket spacing around the pool
The pool enclosure uses closely spaced vertical pickets and a simple upper rail, keeping the fence visually open across the backyard while creating a distinct enclosure around the swimming pool.
A 6-foot spear-top aluminum fence for the outer property
Away from the pool enclosure, the fence becomes taller and more architectural. The 6-foot spear-top sections use decorative picket tops, larger visual mass and matching gates to define the property perimeter.
The details that separate the two systems
- Pool enclosure. Black aluminum fencing with 1⅝-inch picket spacing around the swimming pool.
- Perimeter fence. Six-foot-tall black aluminum fencing with spear-top pickets around the property.
- Gates. Gate locations are integrated into both the pool-area circulation and the taller perimeter runs.
- One material, two expressions. The finish stays consistent while the height, spacing and decorative treatment change with the application.
Aluminum does not have to be one-size-fits-all
This Miller Place project is a useful example of designing by purpose rather than repeating one fence style across an entire property. The pool area stays visually open with the close-spaced aluminum system, while the taller spear-top perimeter has a stronger architectural presence.
