A waterfront fence had to work with a raised masonry patio — not against it.
At this Seaford waterfront property, the aluminum fence follows the canal edge across a raised masonry patio and bulkhead condition. Rather than treating the waterfront as an ordinary yard line, Sunrise core-drilled the aluminum fence into the masonry so the finished barrier could stay clean and visually open along the water.
The same project also included black aluminum railings at the exterior steps, carrying the material and finish back toward the house.
Core-drilled into the raised masonry waterfront edge
The interesting part of this installation is underneath the finished fence line: there is very little conventional ground at the water side. The fence is integrated with the raised masonry patio at the bulkhead, which required a different installation approach than a normal post-set yard fence.
A barrier that does not turn the canal into a wall
The open-picket aluminum design preserves long sightlines across the canal and docks. Gates and fence sections follow the usable patio while maintaining a consistent black finish across the waterfront.
Matching aluminum railings at the house
The project also included black aluminum railings at two exterior step locations. The railing work uses the same material family as the waterfront fence while responding to the smaller scale and geometry of the masonry steps.
The finished work led to another project on the same block.
After this waterfront installation was completed, Sunrise was recommended for another aluminum fence project on the same Seaford block. The second property had a different waterfront condition — a wood-deck bulkhead — so the fence could not simply be approached the same way.
